Big update from my little art space
14 Sep 2023
It's been a while. The summer has been and gone in a whirlwind of holidays, finishing paintings, framing, tidying and labelling. Like last year - only this year I was more prepared 😁
Northants Open Studios (NOS for short) September festival is in full swing. I have two 12" square paintings for sale at the Central Exhibition which is again taking place at the stunning location of Lamport Hall: Tulimpsest and The little pot.
Next up, I'm just thrilled to be part of a NOS group exhibition at the wonderful Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed house in Northampton, 78 Derngate. As you are possibly aware by now of my love of pattern, you can imagine I am rather taken with the Art Deco and Charles Rennie Mackintosh designs. It's wonderful to have 16 paintings hanging in their gallery spaces.
That was also a fun new experience; first time drilling into a wall, hitting a steel and needing to come up with a creative hanging solution, and curating the space with other artists. And I couldn't have done it without my 11-year-old side kick handing me the pencil, spirit level, screwdrivers etc. at just the right time!
Here are a couple of post-installation photos.
Finally, my own studio has been cleared and tidied with a rejig of the paintings hanging up on the walls. At one point I thought I might not have much available in the studio but I needn't have worried... I made a little reel for instagram which you can watch here.
Most of the paintings available in my studio are already in the shop on my website.
However, I've just finished two new mini landscapes which I am sharing here for sale first. You could make one (or both) yours now, before my studio visitors this coming weekend even set their eyes on them!
On the left is Solitude and on the right we have Daedal, which means intricate, like the branches of the trees.
£55 each sold in a mount to fit either a 8" square, or 8" x 10" frame (shown below) - let me know which mount you prefer when you click the buy button!
Only £100 if you'd like the pair.
Free UK shipping, just for subscribers. If you live outside the UK I'll provide shipping costs as soon as I can; use the buy buttons to send me an email.
I also have an Open Studios page on my website that will be updated throughout September. It provides more information on where my various paintings are being exhibited with some nice photos of the work. There are also links to the NOS on-line brochure and the NOS website where you can find out more about the events happening across the county.
Phew - I think that's all the important news delivered. Next time I think I'll be sharing a bit about my art-making process. Maybe I'll even have some new Christmas card designs to show you too.
Bye for now,
Lucy
